Wheelchair
Service Guide
- Korean Air provides a wheelchair service to passengers with mobility difficulties due to a physical and mental disability, illness, or old age.
- The dedicated staff will assist passengers from check-in to boarding. After arrival at a destination airport, the passengers will again be assisted until they reach the arrival area inside the terminal.
- Wheelchairs are provided for passengers who have requested the service in advance.
Request in-flight wheelchair use
- A wheelchair designed exclusively for on-board use is available.
- If you require a wheelchair on-board, please request this service in advance through the Korean Air Service Center or your travel agency.
Passenger-owned wheelchair
- Korean Air transports passengers’ wheelchairs and walking aids free of charge. Wheelchairs larger than 122cm (width) 84cm (height) may be difficult to transport on smaller aircraft (such as the B737). Please contact the Service Center for more information.
- Battery-powered wheelchairs require additional safety measures by the airline. Please inform us of the details upon request.
(The body of the electric wheelchair is stowed in the cargo compartment in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Regulations.) - We normally allow for passengers to check in the wheelchair at the boarding gate and pick it up at a arrival, but some airports cannot provide it due to the conditions of the airport facilities.
- Passengers can also request help to move when using their own wheelchair.
